Château Fayat 2012

The domain:
After successively acquiring Chateau Commanderie de Mazeyres, Vieux Chateau Bourgneuf and Prieurs de la Commanderie, Clément Fayat founded Chateau Fayat in 2009.
This merger brings today to Chateau Fayat an impressive multiplicity of terroirs.
Located north of the Pomerol appellation, the domain’s 12 plots are spread over almost 16 hectares, near the famous Château Trotanoy.
The grape variety is made up of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The wines are vinified under the advice of the well-known Michel Rolland.70% are aged in oak barrels (50% new) and the remaining 30% in vats.

This 2012 vintage offers a jammy, intense and floral aspect. Light empyreumatic notes are complemented by a spicy finish. Structured and enjoying a good length, it has a bright future.
