Château Grand-Pontet 2014
Sylvie Pourquet-Bécot has been leading this 14-hectare classified growth since 2000, next to the one run by her brothers Dominique and Gérard, Beau-Sejour Bécot. The terroirs are close, clay-limestone, and the Cabernets always have a significant place here in the assembly of the great wine. The bouquet opens with delicate woody notes that accompany scents of very ripe red fruits, “very merlot”, and scents of spices and leather. We find this impression of maturity in an elegant, dense palate with good volume, with supple and polished tannins.
