Mostly derived from Quaternary gravel on gravelly-sandy and gravelly-clay subsoils, clays are also more or less deep and compact, sometimes even flush. The wine is separated from Château Latour by a simple jalle (stream between two parcels).
Grapes | Cabernet Sauvignon 65%, Merlot 19%, Cabernet Franc 13%, Petit Verdot 3%. Vines 45 years old. Type of culture: reasoned fight.
Type of wine | Great wine of legend, deep and mysterious …
Winemaking | The winemaking is conducted in a set of wood, cement or stainless steel vats, ranging in size from 40 to over 200 hl, making it possible to adapt to the size of the batches with flexibility. The wine, after transfer, is aged 20 months in oak barrels (50 to 100% new depending on the vintage). It is then stuck with fresh egg white before bottling.
