Château Valandraud 2015
The 60 ares acquired in 1989 in the Fongaban valley, between Pavie-Macquin and La Clotte, have become a wine in its own right: 10 hectares today, mainly in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse.
The dress is deep, almost black and announces a rare concentration. Intense, still very woody, the nose offers a whole range of aging aromas – from vanilla to mocha, including cinnamon and gingerbread – while letting black fruit appear in the background. On the palate, this 2015 imposes itself by its power. Very warm, fleshy and persistent, it remains elegant thanks to a framework of dense and coated tannins which suggests a long aging potential.
