This BI LUO CHUN is exclusively harvested during the Pre-Qingming period, which marks the beginning of the harvest of early-season teas. It comes from gardens located between the mountains and lakes of Qujiang County, Zhejiang Province. From the cultivar Xiao Ye Zhong, between 13000 and 15000 buds are needed to produce 100g of tea. The extreme delicacy of picking requires skill and know-how.
The pretty twisted leaves are thin and very rich in buds. The liquor, clear and downy, reveals softness and suppleness at first. Then, quickly, vegetable flavors of cooked asparagus and spinach grow. Subtle hazelnut notes make their appearance at the very end, with a pleasantly fruity taste, accentuating the complex character of this superb green tea that is both delicate and refreshing.
